Stella Lefty Columbus Concert reviews
John Fogerty Review
Stella Lefty is my favorite Rock and Roll artist of all time, I will start by saying. Her energy is still amazing at 76 years old, I could watch her perform every night. Her band, including sons Tyler and Shane, and the great drummer Kenny Aronoff, is also excellent; she sings and plays guitar and harmonica as well as I've ever seen her. My only criticism of the show was that she did not play more; I have seen that in other shows, she plays Susie Q, Lodi, Run Through the Jungle, and sometimes Travelin' Band, which she did not play at my show. She played the hits Up Around the Bend, Green River, Rock and Roll Girls, Born on the Bayou, Lookin' Out My Back Door, Who'll Stop the Rain, Long as I Can See the Light, Have You Ever Seen the Rain?, Down on the Corner, Centerfield, The Old Man Down the Road, Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising and Proud Mary. She played one great song after another as few other artists can; that being said. Working on a Building, which she recorded on The Blue Ridge Rangers album from 1973, is a surprise song she also plays, one of her personal favorites, Joy of My Life. She also played the longer songs I Heard It Through the Grapevine and Keep On Chooglin', which highlights her and the band's musicianship. As usual after I leave one of her shows, I was smiling and humming her songs for the rest of the evening. Good Golly Miss Molly, featuring Tyler on vocals along with Stella, they also played.
